What is FIP gasket
FIP gaskets are elastic sealing gaskets coated with a liquid on their surfaces. It is formed through an automated on-site molding process, using dedicated dispensing equipment to precisely apply liquid sealant directly into the sealing grooves of the product’s shell or cover plate, and then solidify to form a gasket.
GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets achieve seamless and reliable sealing through an automated dispensing process. Whether you are working in the industrial, automotive, or medical field, GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets can meet your requirements.

The Main Advantages of FIP Gaskets
Sealability: The material of GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets forms a strong adhesive force with the substrate after curing, creating a completely closed sealing structure. This completely eliminates the risk of leakage caused by defects at the joints, which is crucial for the dust-proof, water-proof, and anti-electromagnetic interference functions of your products.
Flexibility: GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets are not limited by the complexity of the shape of the sealing path. Whether it is a simple or complex profile, they can penetrate liquid materials into every gap, which improves the utilization rate and reduces the costs of your materials.
Durability: GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets feature excellent temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and durability, which have placed them in an irreplaceable position in modern manufacturing. They are the ideal choice for many engineering applications and are also expected to be your best option.

Common FIP Gasket Materials
The final performance of FIP gaskets is influenced by the materials used. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of various materials and select the most suitable GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gasket material for you.
Organic silicone rubber
Silicone rubber is the most widely used FIP gasket material, offering an extremely wide temperature resistance range, typically from -60 °C to 300 °C. In addition, it also features excellent weather resistance, good electrical insulation, chemical resistance, and high resilience, which makes it often used in automotive sensors, car lamps, smartphones, watches, medical equipment casings, and more.
Polyurethane
Polyurethane enhances the performance balance, which differs from that of silicone. If you focus more on mechanical strength, you can use polyurethane as the FIP gasket material. Polyurethane features excellent wear resistance, high mechanical strength and tear strength, as well as good oil resistance and fuel resistance. Additionally, it exhibits good damping performance, effectively absorbing vibration and noise.
Fluorosilicone rubber
Fluorosilicone rubber is a combination of silicone rubber and fluororubber. It combines the advantages of both, but correspondingly, its cost is also higher. Fluorosilicone rubber exhibits a wide temperature resistance range similar to that of silicone rubber, while also possessing excellent oil resistance, chemical resistance, and fuel resistance comparable to those of fluorosilicone rubber.
Silane-modified polyether
Silane-modified polyether is a hybrid material that exhibits performance characteristics between those of polyurethane and silicone rubber. It is an environmentally friendly material with excellent adhesion to various substrates. Additionally, it exhibits good weather resistance and durability, and its surface can be treated with spray painting, which helps maintain the sealing pressure over an extended period.
Manufacturing Process of FIP Gaskets

Understanding how FIP gaskets work will help you create more reliable, cost-effective, and competitive end products. Below is the manufacturing process for GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets, which we hope will be helpful to you.
Step 1: Using a dedicated dispensing device, continuously and stably extrude a strip-shaped liquid material along the pre-designed sealing groove trajectory on the product shell, causing it to adhere immediately to the substrate and form a tight bond. The set shape is then maintained without collapsing.
Step 2: After the coating is completed, the liquid material will undergo a chemical reaction by heating or absorbing moisture from the air, curing from a liquid state into a tough and elastic rubber body. This is an irreversible process. The cured gasket exhibits excellent resilience, returning to its original shape even after being compressed for an extended period, thereby continuously providing sealing pressure.
Step 3: When the upper cover and lower shell of your product are assembled together by screws and other fasteners, the FIP gasket will be compressed. As it is an elastic body, it generates a reverse rebound force when compressed. This continuous rebound force will tightly fill all the gaps between the two connection interfaces, forming a physical barrier. As a result, it can effectively prevent the passage of moisture, dust, gas, or electromagnetic waves, achieving environmental sealing and electromagnetic shielding functions.
Common Applications of FIP Gaskets

Automotive electronics: The automotive industry has specific requirements for FIP gaskets to be waterproof, dustproof, and oil-resistant, making them suitable for use in electronic on-board cameras, radar sensors, LED headlights, engine ECUs, transmission controllers, and battery management systems.
Consumer electronics: smartphones, smartwatches, drones, outdoor audio equipment, action cameras, etc
Communication equipment: This requires FIP gaskets to withstand harsh outdoor environments and provide EMI shielding. It is mainly used in 5G base station antennas, filters, and outdoor communication cabinets.
Medical equipment: It requires FIP gaskets to ensure reliable sealing performance. FIP gaskets are typically used in surgical tools, in vitro diagnostic equipment, and portable monitors, among other applications.
Industrial electronics: This requires FIP gaskets to be dust-proof, moisture-proof, and resistant to chemical corrosion. FIP gaskets are applied in industrial controllers, sensors, and frequency converters.
The above are some of the wide applications of GALLOP INNOTEK FIP gaskets. If your industry also requires FIP gaskets, please don’t hesitate to contact us at your convenience.
FIP Gasket Bead Volume Planner
Estimate cured bead volume and material mass from the dispensing path and bead dimensions.
Planning/reference estimate: Assumes an elliptical bead cross-section. Dispense start/stop, corners, collapse, cure shrinkage, purge and machine trials affect actual consumption.
FIP gaskets typically have an effective service life of 10 to 15 years. Their lifespan is highly dependent on the type of material, working environment and design conditions, and is not a fixed value.
FIP gaskets cannot be repaired by conventional methods. When FIP gaskets have problems, it is necessary to thoroughly remove the original ineffective colloid first, strictly clean and dry the surface of the base material, and then precisely reapply and cure it with compatible materials. This process has relatively high technical requirements. It is recommended that it be completed by professional technicians.
