How does a Microwave Absorber work?
- Absorption of electromagnetic waves: GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorbers draw incident electromagnetic waves into the material, preventing them from reflecting off the surface. GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorbers have an extremely high resistivity. Electromagnetic waves are generated inside and cannot be transmitted.
- Attenuation Matching: GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorbers can efficiently attenuate the electromagnetic waves absorbed inside. Electromagnetic energy is converted into thermal energy through resistive loss, dielectric loss, and magnetic loss, thus achieving the effect of suppressing electromagnetic waves.
Materials Used for Microwave Absorber

- Ferrite Wave Absorbing Material: It is a high-performance composite copolymer of soft magnetic ferrite that can reduce dielectric loss and magnetic loss of electromagnetic waves. You can utilise it in various industries, benefiting from its high absorption rate and wide frequency band.
- Metal Powder Wave Absorbing Material: The metal powder wave absorbing material exhibits excellent temperature stability and effectively suppresses electromagnetic waves through hysteresis loss and eddy current loss.
- Polycrystalline Iron Fibre Wave-absorbing Material: Due to its unique structure, it can achieve high absorption efficiency over a wide frequency band and is lightweight. You can even tailor the electromagnetic parameters by adjusting the length of the warp fibres, dispersant content, etc., for precise wave absorption.
- Nano-absorbent Materials: Nano-absorbent materials are very small in size and are often made into coatings. It is ideal for use in space-constrained environments because it can be sprayed in thin coatings.
- Wave-absorbing structural composites are formed by combining wave-absorbing materials and resin foam adhesive fibers, such as silicon carbide fiber composites.
- Plasma wave-absorbing material: It is a stealth material with a high absorption bandwidth, commonly used in combat protection.
Applications of Microwave Absorbers

- Electronic Equipment: You can use GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorber for electronic equipment. It not only effectively shields against electromagnetic interference, but also plays a significant role without affecting the use of space and weight.
- The automotive industry relies on GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorbers to suppress electromagnetic interference, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of assisted driving systems and autonomous driving technologies in automobiles.
- Radar: Used in military radar for stealth and electromagnetic shielding for aircraft, missiles, ships, etc., to enhance survivability.
- Wireless Communication Devices: You can use GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorbers in wireless charging portals and other wirelessly controlled devices. They reduce the interference of the devices with external signals while preventing the devices from interfering with each other.
- NFC System: GALLOP INNOTEK microwave absorbers enhance the signals of NFC readers and RFID cards, reducing interference from metals and batteries, and improving communication performance.
Microwave Absorber Frequency Pre-Selector
Use the interference band, available space and application environment to organize an absorber RFQ.
Planning/reference estimate: Frequency alone cannot predict attenuation. Final selection requires measured permeability/permittivity, S-parameters, mounting geometry and system-level EMC testing.
Microwave absorbers can be recovered for multiple recycling and are pollution-free during production, use and recycling. You can also choose safer materials for your environment. For example, using microwave absorbers that are biodegradable in the ocean.
The microwave absorber can respond intelligently to changes in the environment (e.g. temperature, humidity, electromagnetic wave strength, etc.). And the whole process does not require your active intervention.
