What is a Silicone Gap Filler
GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler is a liquid thermal interface material(TIM) used to fill gaps between the hot surfaces and cooling surfaces in your electronic devices. It utilizes silicone as a primary raw material and fills the particles with metal oxides or ceramics to enhance conductivity.
The Benefits of Silicone Gap Filler
Thermal Conductivity: The main benefit of GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler is its good thermal conductivity. Usually, the thermal conductivity of silicone gap filler is higher than 2.0 W/m ·K; the larger the numerical value, the faster the heat transfer rate, thus forming a good thermal conductivity.
Silicone gap filler can fill the gap to replace the air. Silicone gap filler can enhance the entire heat transfer in electronic equipment or systems. Generally speaking, silicone gap filler can meet your various heat dissipation requirements.
Electrical Insulation: GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler has electronic insulation. The insulating function can protect sensitive electronic components from electronic short circuits and damage. Silicone gap fillers offer dielectric strength, reducing the risk of electrical interference.
Temperature Resistance: GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler also exhibits good temperature resistance, similar to other TIM materials. It can withstand temperatures between -60 °C and 230 °C (-76°F to 446°F). The most important thing is that a silicone gap filler can maintain high performance under temperature changes.
High Mobility: The biggest difference between GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler with other TIM materials is the high mobility. Silicone gap filler can fit the irregular electronic component surfaces perfectly. This can help you fill gaps under low pressure and reduce interfacial thermal resistance.
The high mobility can adapt to the macroscopic changes in the height of electronic components. At the same time, silicone gap filler can fill in the defects on the micro surface and air gaps, ultimately forming a smooth and horizontal component surface.
Fast Curing: The curing speed of GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler is fast. It can cure quickly at room temperature or higher temperature. It can achieve a 100% solid both inside and on the surface after curing. You do not need to worry about the exudate coming out from cured silicone gap fillers.
Additionally, there is no volume change during the curing process. If you are in the precision electronics business and have a strict requirement for volume change, then silicone gap filler can meet your needs, fitting seamlessly.
Eco-friendly: GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler is environmentally friendly. It has met the environmental protection requirements of RoHS and REACH, as published by the EU. Which means there is no unsafe material in the silicone gap filler, and it can be used safely.
How to Use and Store Silicone Gap Filler?

Using Method
Step 1. Clean Up
Clean up the dust on the electronic component surfaces and make sure there are no impurities or oil on the surface.
Step 2. Filling
Set the air pressure or piston pressure to ≤ 0.6MPa for your dispensing equipment. At the same time, control the time and other parameters according to the type of silicone gap filler. Then, dispense the silicone gap filler to the surface of the electronic component.
Ensure the electronic component surface is sealed with silicone gap filler, and all gaps are filled with filler. Finally, scrape the extra fillers to form a clean appearance.
Step 3. Curing
After filling, you need to cure the filled electronic components at 150℃ for 0.5-1h. If your working temperature can not get that high, then the curing time needs to be extended.
The curing temperature should not be lower than 100℃. If 100℃ is the highest temperature you can achieve, then 3 hours are needed to cure.
Storage Tips
The right storage methods of GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler are important. We suggest storing the silicone gap fillers under normal temperatures in a lay-flat way. Do not store excessive silicone gap fillers in advance; the stored silicone gap fillers should be used within six months.
To store unused silicone gap fillers, you need to unload them from the dispensers and tighten the outlet nut. If you want to store unused silicone gap fillers in the dispensers, you need to release the air pressure or piston pressure at the rear plug.
If you can run out one tube of silicone gap filler disposable, that would be best. Since the unused silicone gap filler will cure, you must remove the cured filler before proceeding to the next operation. It will result in long-term cost loss.

Consumer electronics is the biggest market for GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler and other TIM material. Smartphones, laptop computers, and tablets both require silicone gap filler to complete the electronic components assembly.
Silicone gap filler can protect the circuit board and other components to prevent from the influence of heat stress, and it can also absorb the impact from the normal use of consumer electronic devices.
At the same time, GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler can manage the high-performance processor and the GPU heat. Silicone gap filler is crucial in preventing overheating of electronics and ensuring optimal operating performance.
Auto
The auto area is also an important market for GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler. It can solve the heat load problem in power electronic equipment and control units, ensuring they run normally in a harsh environment.
Additionally, silicone gap filler can reduce heat flow in inductors and transformers, thereby improving charge and discharge functions and extending service life. Silicone gap filler is typically used in inverters, converters, and charging connectors.
Aerospace
GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler can also be used in the aerospace area. It can help to manage heat load problems in the avionics and other critical systems. Finally, to ensure the reliability and high performance of aerospace systems.
Communication Field
Silicone gap filler can also be used in high-performance network equipment to control the heat coming from densely packed electronic components.
How to Choose the Silicone Gap Filler?
![]()
When choosing the suitable type of GALLOP INNOTEK silicone gap filler, there are 4 aspects you need to consider. They are thermal coefficient, curing time, viscosity, and production capacity.
The thermal coefficient decides the heat transfer efficiency of the silicone gap filler. The curing time can affect the overall processing efficiency. The viscosity can determine the difficulty of filling and the degree of fit. Additionally, silicone gap filler is well-suited for automated production using dispensing equipment, enabling high production capacity.
In addition, the silicone gap filler cannot be reworked after curing. If your electronic devices do not require frequent rework, then silicone gap filler can help you achieve high-efficiency assembly.
